Plover owner to sell Big Apple Bagels

By Brandi Makuski

A popular bagel store business in Plover is up for sale.

Big Apple Bagels first opened at 1600 American Dr. in 2002. Current owner Carie Bembenek purchased the franchise in 2013, and now says she’s ready for a little down time.

“I just want to slow down a bit, it’s a lot of hours,” Bemebenk said. “The place is doing great, I just want to go back to part-time.”

She’s asking $75,000 for the franchise, which includes all the store’s equipment. The building is leased, she said, but is available for purchase.

Bembenek said she’d be willing to stay on as an employee.

Big Apple Bagels is headquartered in Deerfield, Ill., and has 10 locations is Wisconsin. The business offers counter service for coffee, sandwiches and basic breakfast fare, including muffins and bagels.

Interested parties should contact Bembenek at 715.630.6647 or [email protected], or franchsie attorney Brian Evans at [email protected].
