Plover firefighters ready for Wednesday open house

The public is invited to an open house at the Plover Fire Department on Wednesday.

The annual open house will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the PFD, with a series of emergency services-related vendors and activities.

Scheduled activities include:

– Live Fire Demo
– Aspirus MedEvac Helicopter (weather permitting)
– Wood County Fire Safety Trailer
– Emergency Vehicle Displays
– Junior Firefighter Combat Challenge
– Chalk Art Coloring Contest (weather permitting)
– Kids “Passport” Activity Program
– Hands-Only CPR & First Aid Training
– Free Smoke Detectors through American Red Cross
– Plover Fire Auxiliary Food & Basket Raffles
– Plover Police Department & K-9 Karma
– Local Business Vendors & Safety Resources
– Appearances by Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey Bear

The event is free and open to the public and will go on rain or shine. The Plover Fire Department is located at 2400 Post Rd.
