Plover cancels Korean War memorial program

Metro Wire Staff

The Village of Plover has canceled its annual Wisconsin Korean War Veterans Memorial ceremony and program, originally scheduled for June 7.

The decision was made last week out of concern for the well-being of veterans, their families, and guests in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual ceremony often has special guests from state government and the U.S. Embassy & Consulate in the Republic of Korea. The program honors veterans of the Korean Conflict, and donors who purchased name tiles on the memorial’s wall, which overlooks Lake Pacawa.

The program will resume in June 2021, according to the village.
