One of the two village water towers in Plover looks a bit off on Thursday, as workers misspelled the village’s name during a repainting project.
Work on repainting the southwest tower, located just off Lincoln Ave., was approved in March. The contractor, Classic Coatings, has been repainting the tower for about a month.
Matt Saloun, water systems manager for the Village of Plover, said a worker on the painting team accidentally flipped the letter stencils.
“It brought a little bit of levity to a Thursday afternoon, but I think they’ll only have to add one more day to the project,” Saloun said on July 1, adding the error would not cost any additional funding.
“The paint was ordered for the project, but there’s always that little bit left after you’re done, so that’s what they’ll use,” he said.
The error will likely be corrected on Friday, Saloun said.
