Lt. Mitch Fromm from the Plover Fire Department (center) instructs younger firefighters prior to entering a building during a training event on Dec. 1.
The PFD was training on victim rescue and movement inside smoke-filled rooms at a vacant home slated for demolition on the 3000 block of Plover Rd. at the intersection of Post Rd.
Instructors at the department used fog machines to simulate smoke, and a mannequin posed as a victim. About 25 volunteer firefighters from the department participated in the training event.
The site is already partially demolished to make room for a new location of CoVantage Credit Union. The remaining house on the lot is expected to be demolished over the next several days.
