This year’s water fights were conducted before an audience at least twice the size seen in recent years. Ten teams from local fire departments vied for the top three spots. Stockton took third place, while the Alto Fire Department took second. Firefighters from Sherry, Wis., took home the winning trophy.

The water fights have always been a part of the Celebrate Plover event, which this year was larger than ever. Dozens of food vendors and trucks, and more than 100 business and craft vendors, were spread out over the entirety of the park, where families enjoyed games, inflatables, swimming, a splash pad, live music and dancing, and fireworks.
