Phil was born Oct. 25, 1953, in Stevens Point to Verner and Connie (née Moss) Alm. He served in the U.S. Army after high school and married Barb Studinski on Aug. 3, 1984.

He held various jobs before dedicating the majority of his career to the Stevens Point Public School system, where he worked until retiring in 2013.

Known lovingly as “Yappa,” Phil’s greatest joy was his grandchildren. He cherished spending time outdoors, making lasting memories hunting with his sons, and riding motorcycles across the country. Phil took many trips to Mexico with friends and enjoyed riding his e-bike in Wisconsin and Arizona during his retirement. He had a passion for woodworking, creating everything from furniture to wooden bowls, which he gave as gifts to family and friends.

Phil is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barb; his sons Shane Alm and Nate (Katy Behringer-Alm) Alm; and his grandchildren, Skylar, Xavier, Otis and Wren Alm. He is also survived by his brothers Paul (Carla) Alm and Perry (Kris) Alm; his sisters Priscilla (Bruce) Dehlinger, Pansi (Dana) Herold, and Patti (Don) Sandman; and his in-laws Sharon Studinski, Randy (Cori) Studinski, and Laurie (Randy) Lutz. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Rhody and Patricia Studinski; his daughter-in-law, Katie Alm; his grandson, Arlo Alm; and his brother-in-law, Gerald Studinski.

Yappa – we will miss you dearly but your spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
