Permanent StoryWalk trail opens at Plover library branch

PLOVER — A new permanent StoryWalk trail has opened at the Portage County Public Library’s Plover Branch, inviting readers of all ages to enjoy a walk through nature while following along with a rotating selection of children’s books.

The trail, which features 16 kiosks displaying pages of a picture book along a walking path, winds through the library gardens and extends west along a newly created gravel trail. Most of the path is paved and accessible even when the library is closed.

The StoryWalk was made possible through funding from the Portage County Public Library Foundation and in collaboration with the Village of Plover Buildings and Grounds Department, which also constructed the new trail.

The national StoryWalk project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, in partnership with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. It is a registered service mark owned by Ferguson.
