Pedal Point Rally returns to Hostel Shoppe

By Patrick Lynn

The Point Pedal Rally returns in 2022 with an expanded timeline and new activities.

The annual benefit for the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County, which previously occurred during one afternoon, will take place this year on July 15 and 16.

Riders in this year’s event will rally at the Hostel Shoppe, 3201 John Joanis Dr., on Friday, July 15, then cycle 10 miles to local ice cream shops for a scoop before riding back to the Portage Co. Business Park for dinner.

The Friday night meal will be provided by KitchensBrew.

Cyclists will raise pledges for each mile they ride—individually or in teams—throughout the month of June. Participants can ride virtually or in person, choosing between one of five distances: 60 miles, 40 miles, 20 miles, 13 miles, or the Rich Johnson Family Ride, which is four miles.

On Saturday, July 16, Hostel Shopp will host an awards ceremony, bounce house, food trucks, and games. Portesi Italian Foods will also provide free cheese fries and pizza for kids.

To participate in the Saturday ride, the fee is $25 for adults and $10 for children. The fee increases on July 1. Boys & Girls Club members ride for free, courtesy of Mark Toyota.

To participate in Friday and Saturday events, the cost is $50 per person.
