PCBC offering agriculture scholarships

The Portage County Business Council is now accepting applications for the 2018 Agri-Business Scholarships.

The $1,000 scholarships will be presented at the American Agriculture Appreciation Banquet on March 12 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center.

Award recipients who have completed an application must meet the following criteria:

Be a resident of Portage County
Be a high school senior academically
Meet the entry requirements of the selected accredited Wisconsin school of higher education
Or attend an accredited Wisconsin school of higher education
Be enrolled as a full-time student in high school or College
Pursue a course of study in an agricultural related field.

Seventy-one students have received over $30,000 in scholarship money since 1990.

 All applications received are confidentially reviewed by the Agri-Business Committee of the Portage County Business Council. Deadline for all completed applications is 4:30 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
