The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area YMCA hosted their 19th Annual Passport to Paradise last week.
The events raised over $45,000 for the two organizations.
Over 500 people attended “Death in Diagon Alley,” a virtual Harry Potter themed, family-friendly murder mystery party via Zoom.
Highlights from this year’s event included Mayor Mike Wiza, UW-Stevens Point Stevie Pointer, McDill Elementary School Principal Jeanne Koepke, and Karl Bancker, principal at Madison Elementary School, who plays suspects in the murder mystery.
Participants received a special Harry Potter Grab ‘n’ Go kit, which included a Portesi Pizza, Point Vanilla Cream Soda, a slime making kit, wands, Harry Potter Jellybeans, and other goodies.
All proceeds from this event benefits kids at the Stevens Point Area YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County.
Sentry, NRG Media, AIG, Len Dudas Motors, and Bob and Mary Berard, were among this year’s sponsors.
Next year’s theme and date have yet to be revealed.
