Panthers come back after slow start, Evergreens 75-53
By Craig Marx
Stevens Point Area Senior High boys basketball overcame early obstacles to pick up a 75-53 Wisconsin Valley Conference win over DC Everest on Tuesday.
Less than two minutes into the first half, the Panthers found themselves down 5-2 and SPASH missed two easy three-pointers but curtailed their lack of offense behind Parker Vanderloop and Damien Cejkz.
As the offense came alive SPASH was up on the Evergreens 37-26.
The second half belonged to Nate Streveler and Baraka Makalli, where their outside shooting and fast drive in the lane saw the Panthers lead 63-41 late in the second half before closing out the game 75-53.
SPASH will be traveling to Wisconsin Rapids on Dec. 23 beginning at 8:15 p.m.
