Pacelli preps for 47th annual Panacea

By Patrick Lynn

Panacea returns to Pacelli High School Sept. 10-12.

The 47th annual event will be held entirely outdoors, but unlike last year’s event, the A&P Carnival and other familiar pieces of Panacea will return this year.

The basket raffle, cherry tree, money tree, Pacelli spirit wear shop, and first aid stand will be located in a tent on the school’s front lawn.

The farmer’s market will take place near the main food tent, where Panacea volunteers will serve fresh cheese curds and black Angus beef burgers from Feltz Family Farms and Dairy Store, Ski’s Meat Market’s Panacea brat, Portesi Pizza, and other local businesses. Rainbow Snow will also be onsite with ice cream and snow cones.

Friday’s fish fry will be held 4-7 p.m., and Sunday’s chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., both catered by Rockman’s Catering. Food will be available as carry-out only, with a walk-up service window and outdoor seating available.

The silent auction will take place online. Bidding opens at noon on Thursday, Sept. 9, and closes at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12.

The Portage Co. Health Department will also be on hand from 12:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, to offer free COVID-19 vaccinations.

Live music by The Third Wheels will be available Friday night, with Aaron G playing an acoustic show Saturday afternoon, and country band Branded playing Saturday night. Polka Pow Wow featuring Gary’s Ridgeland Dutchmen and Polish Connection will be featured on Sunday

Onsite portrait art will be available from Caricatures by Joey.

The event will close on Sept. 12 with the raffle drawings, where the grand prize winner will get their choice of $20,000 or a new 2020 Cadillac XT4 donated by Len Dudas Motors.
