Pacelli falls to Wild Rose

The Pacelli baseball team ended their four-game winning streak on Monday by falling to Wild Rose 4-7 in a conference matchup at Bukolt Park.

The Wildcats started off with a 2-0 lead and Pacelli tied at the end of the third inning but Wild Rose scored two runs in the third inning and Pacelli couldn’t catch up.

Pacelli’s Zach Zimmerman singled on a ground ball to bring Raflik across the plate in the second inning putting the Cardinals on the board. Seth Schulfer singled in the 3rd inning to score senior Nate Helms. Brycen Cashin singled on a hard ground ball to bring in two RBIs in the sixth inning.

Zimmerman led Pacelli in hits going 2-for-3 from the plate. Cashin led in RBIs with two.

Zimmerman was the losing pitcher going five innings and Kayden Mayek pitched two innings in relief with four strikeouts.

The Cardinals are set to travel to Port Edwards on Thursday.
