Pacelli baseball sweeps Amherst in doubleheader

The Pacelli baseball team bounced back from their loss to Rosholt on Thursday to take a pair of wins against Amherst on Saturday.

Pacelli had bats going in both games. In game one, Pacelli had eight hits and a big seventh inning with five runs scored to win 10-6.

In game two, Pacelli tallied ten hits with a come from behind 12-5 victory. Pacelli scored four runs in both the sixth and seventh innings.

Game 1

Zack Zimmerman led the team in hits going 2-for-4 from the plate and Drew Kedrowicz led the Cardinals with two RBIs for the game.

Kaydin Mayek was the starting pitcher going six innings with nine strikeouts, four hits, three runs, and three walks. Kedrowicz pitched out of the bullpen for the final inning.

Ben Lee took the loss for Amherst. Josh Rieck went 2-for-4 and Cyle Zblewski lead in RBIs with two.

Game 2

Kedrowicz and Brycen Cashin lead Pacelli with two hits each. Mayek drove in three RBIs with Cashin and Kedrowicz each bringing two across the plate.

Cam Landwer was the starting pitcher. Kedrowicz took the win on the mound in relief going three innings with four strikeouts, no hits, no runs and two walks.

Rieck took the loss for Amherst. Sterling Lutz lead Amherst in hits going 2-for-4 with Lincoln Cullen bringing in two RBIs.

The Cardinals are set to travel to Tri-County on Monday with first pitch at 4 p.m.
