The Plover Area Business Association is holding a Lunch’n Learn event on March 12 aimed at helping local employers succeed.

“Emotional Intelligence: Awareness, Adaptability & Empathy for 21st Century Leadership” will feature keynote speaker Bill Marklein from Plymouth-based Employ Humanity.

The subject is growing in importance as area businesses struggle to recruit and retain the talent, according to PABA Director Ken McKenzie.

“Everyone’s ability to manage our own emotions and recognize others’ emotions around us is becoming a top competency for workplace leadership,” he said via email.

The presentation is open to PABA members for $36 and the general public for $40 at Tables of six and co-sponsorships may also be purchased.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Atrium of SentryWorld, 601 Michigan Ave. North.
