Simplicity Credit Union has donated $25,000 to Mid-State Technical College toward the building of an Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, and Apprenticeship Center in Stevens Point.

The donation goes towards the construction of the educational facility designed to meet the need for cutting-edge workforce training. With a projected 1,500 students served annually, the project promises to bring not just better work-skills training to local manufacturers, but an increase in revenue from food, housing, and other basic needs to the Central Wisconsin Area.

The new 53,000-square-foot, high-tech training facility, that will work with traditional technical college students but also offer advanced programming for high school students, incumbent worker training, and new equipment and technology advancement demonstrations for central Wisconsin businesses.

“Our communities are fortunate to have the kind of future-focused educational opportunities Mid-State
Technical College offers, and we’re pleased to be a partner in this new endeavor” said Nick Faber, Simplicity CEO.

Mid-State plans to open the new center in late 2023 in the Stevens Point Industrial Park.
