No injuries in semi rollover on I-39 ramp

Police say they were no injuries in a Tuesday rollover.

Stevens Point police responded to the off-ramp on Hwy. 10, near La Quinta Inn, shortly before 2 p.m. after a caller reported a semi hauling two trailers rolled on to its side.

Officer Kris Marchel said at 6 p.m., crews were still working to unload the double trailer, which he said appears to have been carrying bales of recycled plastic.

“Once they’re done unloading the trailer, then we’ll shut down that exit ramp temporarily while Johnson’s pulls it back up on the road, probably for an hour, hour-and-a-half,” he said.

Marchel said the Wisconsin State Patrol, Portage Co. Traffic Incident Management, Portage Co. EMS, and Johnson Towing all responded to the scene.

Marchel said there were no injuries.
