New chocolate shop brings handcrafted confections to downtown Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT — Downtown Stevens Point has a sweet new addition with the opening of Caed Confections, a boutique candy shop specializing in handcrafted chocolates at 1100 Main St., Suite 180.

Owned by longtime baker Presley Rhode, the shop offers a variety of artisan treats, including bonbons, chocolate bars, fudge and toffee, all made on-site in a kitchen located just behind the front counter.

“I’ve been a baker for the last 12 to 13 years,” Rhode said. “Chocolate always felt like one of those far-off things that only you could do if you went to school for it. But then last winter, I decided to take a class and learn how to do it, and I absolutely loved it.”

Rhode spent the past year honing her skills in chocolate-making before launching the storefront. Bonbon flavors will rotate seasonally, with staples like salted caramel and peanut butter expected to remain available year-round.

Bonbons are priced from $6.50 for a four-count box to $15 for a nine-count. Chocolate bars are $7, and a selection of other candies is also available. The shop, formerly home to Point Nutrition, features a welcoming space with large windows and a front seating area.

“The big windows are great. I love all the natural light in the space,” Rhode said.

The shop also incorporates locally roasted coffee from Mission Coffee House into some of its products, and customers are welcome to bring beverages from Mission into Caed’s seating area.

The name “Caed Confections” comes from the names of Rhode’s children, Canan and Eden.

In addition to the storefront, Caed Confections sells its products through a network of eight wholesale partners across Wisconsin. Local outlets include Feltz and Mission Coffee House, with additional partners in Eagle River and La Crosse. Customers can scan a QR code at the shop’s entrance to find the full list of partner locations.

For the summer, the shop is open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with rotating Saturday hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rhode said she plans to extend hours closer to the holiday season.
