STEVENS POINT – Aspirus Health has named Kari Gattung as the new chief administrative officer for Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital and Clinics and Aspirus Plover Hospital and Clinic.

Gattung began her new role in October and will oversee hospital ancillary operations while working with executive leadership to enhance efficiency and strengthen alignment with Aspirus Health’s mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

“Kari brings extensive healthcare experience with a passion for making a difference,” said Carrie Penovich, president of Aspirus’ Wisconsin Southeast Division. “I am excited about Kari’s ability to immediately have an impact in areas like patient experience, engagement and ancillary operations. Kari will not only create a positive impact for Aspirus but also for the community.”

Gattung brings nearly 15 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience to the role. She previously worked with OSF HealthCare in Bloomington, Illinois, where she held senior positions supporting hospital operations, physician practices, and service line growth. Her leadership helped guide teams through organizational change, improve clinical quality and patient experience, and strengthen both financial and operational performance.

She holds a master’s degree in business and healthcare administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. She is also active with the American College of Healthcare Executives, serving on the board of the organization’s Central Illinois chapter.

“I’m honored to join Aspirus Health and serve the Stevens Point and Plover communities,” Gattung said. “I was drawn to Aspirus because of its commitment to quality care and its people-first culture. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated teams to support the health and wellness of our region.”

Gattung will relocate to Wisconsin with her husband, Josh, and their 15-year-old triplets—Addison, Brody, and Cooper. The family said they are eager to build new roots in central Wisconsin and explore what the area has to offer.

Aspirus Health is a nonprofit, community-directed health system based in Wausau that operates 18 hospitals and 130 outpatient locations across northern and central Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and northeastern Minnesota.
