Nancy M. Thrun, 72

Nancy M. Thrun, of Stevens Point, passed away at her residence on May 3, 2023, at the age of 72.

Nancy was born September 14, 1950, in Stevens Point; daughter of the late Bernard and Cecelia (née Borski) Thrun. She attended area schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. Following high school, Nancy continued her education at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.

Nancy was employed with Sentry Insurance for over 36 years, as a personal lines representative. Following her retirement in 2014, she became a volunteer at St. Michael’s (now Aspirus) Hospital in Stevens Point.

Nancy’s life was a testimony of love; love for her family, friends, and the community. She treasured her time with others; always lending a listening ear and a helping hand. She simply left everyone she met better than she found them.

Nancy filled her home with distinctive pieces of art that she discovered through her life’s journey; which ranged from painted stones found along the river walk to colorful wall hangings and unique furnishings.

She was also an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the YMCA, and the Moose Lodge of Stevens Point.

Nancy is survived by her sisters, Margaret (Jack) Ceplina and Darlene (Larry) Scipior; her half-sisters, Patricia Radomski and Rosemary Walenski; and her nieces and nephews. She is further survived by extended family and numerous friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Alois Walenski; a sister, Joan Browan; a brother, Jerome Thrun; two step-sisters, Charlotte Danenberg and Jeanette Zivney; and 2 nieces and a nephew.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Compassus for their directive care of Nancy in her final days. They would also like to thank all of Nancy’s family and friends for the thoughts and prayers during this time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2151 Stanley St., Stevens Point. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate.
