Nancy Lee Karg, 85

Nancy Lee Karg, 85, of Stevens Point, passed away early Friday morning, May 31, 2024, at her home with her husband, Mel, at her side, while under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Nancy was born Feb. 10, 1939, in Plainview, Minnesota, the daughter of the late McKinley and Cecil (née Vaughan) Lingenfelter.

She married Melvin J. Karg on June 6, 1966, in Wausau. Her husband, Mel, survives.

Nancy taught at the University of Nebraska and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and oil and watercolor painting.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Melvin; two daughters in Wisconsin and a son in Texas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robin (Connie Omitt) Lingenfelter. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2151 Stanley St., Stevens Point, with Rev. Steven Brice officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday in the Parish Family Center of Holy Spirit Parish.
