Motorists beware: Intermittent flooding hits usual parts of city

Metro Wire Staff

Roadways across the city have begun to flood after a series of thunderstorms began rolling through the area late Friday afternoon.

Industrial Park Dr., underpasses at Michigan Ave. and Bus 51, parts of Water St., Algoma, Frontenac, and others have become covered with water.

According to ploverweather.com, the Stevens Point and Plover areas had received 2.38 inches of rain on Aug. 27. But as of 7:20 p.m., most roadways had begun to clear.

Storms are expected throughout the night, with scattered storms expected throughout the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Motorists should allow extra time for traveling and avoid flooded areas, especially at night.
