Motorist airlifted for injuries following crash

The Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office is reporting that one man has been airlifted for injuries sustained during a crash on Hwy. 10.

Deputies and emergency workers responded to I-39 just north of the Hwy. 10 exit at 10:28 a.m. on May 23.

Upon arrival, deputies found an SUV had left the roadway and entered the Little Plover River.

The vehicle was operated by a 37-year-old man who was flown from the scene to Wausau Aspirus.

Portage County Rescue & EMS, Hull Fire, Rescue & EMS, Stevens Point Police, and the Wisconsin State Patrol also responded to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
