As it prepares for it’s centennial anniversary, the Stevens Point Moose have announced a “renewed commitment” to supporting the community.

As part of its celebration, the Stevens Point Moose Family Center 1572, and Chapter 311, have planned multiple community events throughout 2018.

On March 7, the group will host a special fundraiser for the Stevens Point Police Department’s new K-9 unit at 6 PM. The event includes a broasted chicken dinner and special guests from SPPD. An RSVP is required.

March also marks the start of bi-monthly chicken dinners at the center, specially designed to benefit the police department. The Moose will also hold an all-you-can-eat dinner for St. Patrick’s Day.

The Moose will hold its semi-annual YMCA Special Olympics Charcoal Painting on April 21. An Easter event is also being planned.

The group’s centennial will kick off June 23 with a community day of games, entertainment and food.

Over the past five years, Stevens Point Moose has raised over $1,200 annually to support Youth Area Football, Samoset Boy Scout Council, and other youth sports.

The center is also available for other groups to hold community-minded events. For more information, or to RSVP for the events above, call (715) 344-3224 visit. www.moose1572.com.
