Monk’s opens in Plover this week

Monk’s Bar & Grill will open to the public on Tuesday.

The restaurant, 1400 Commerce Pl., will hold an invitation-only soft launch on Monday. Managing franchise owner Greg Frankov said the restaurant will open for regular business on June 11 at 11 a.m.

The restaurant first opened in 1947 in Wisconsin Dells, and today has locations in Middleton, Sun Prairie, and Verona.

Monk’s menu includes burgers, sandwiches, salads, shareable appetizers, fresh wraps, and “seasonal chef specialty menus,” according to the company’s website.

The restaurant replaces Golden Corral, which closed abruptly and without explanation in April 2018, and will employ about 100 people.
