PLOVER — One woman received minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision on Plover Rd. Wednesday.

Plover police, Portage Co. deputies, and Plover Fire/EMS responded to the intersection of Village Park Dr. and Plover Rd./County Hwy. B at 9:56 a.m. when a caller reported the crash.

According to Police Chief Ryan Fox, a 19-year-old woman was traveling south and had the right-of-way with a green light when another motorist, a 62-year-old man, towing a small boat ran a red light and struck the other vehicle.

The man’s boat was knocked off the trailer and flipped onto its side, but his vehicle sustained some front-end damage. Fire/EMS crews lifted the boat back onto the trailer, while police and deputies managed traffic control.

The vehicle driven by the woman sustained heavy front-end damage and her airbag deployed. Fox said the woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the airbag deployment, but was treated on the scene.

The man was cited for violating a red traffic light.

Crews were on the scene for about 35 minutes.
