Registration is now open for Mid-State Technical College’s annual College Camp.
Students entering grades 6 through 8 are invited to attend this all-day event on Wednesday, June 12, on Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus.
College Camp allows students to explore careers and Mid-State programs through workshops and activities. Each attendee will participate in different career exploration sessions of their choice.
Sessions offered this year include Business Management; Cosmetology; Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Academy and Jail Academy; Fire and EMS; Health & Wellness Promotion; IT Software Developer and IT Cybersecurity Specialist; Nursing; Renewable Energy Technician and Construction Trades; and Student Life.
“For nearly 20 years, College Camp has provided area middle school students an opportunity to experience college life, discover their interests, and explore careers and program options,” said Jackie Esselman, dean of Recruitment and Admissions. “It’s an event middle schoolers won’t want to miss.”
“College Camp has a new and exciting theme each year and this year’s theme is treasure hunters,” Esselman added. “Campers can expect to solve puzzles, unlock clues, and search for treasure in their exploration sessions.”
Registration is due by Wednesday, May 22, and participants are encouraged to register early as sessions are first come, first served. A $65 registration fee covers the event, including all sessions, snacks, lunch, camp gifts, and bus transportation. Scholarships are available to cover the camp fee.
Check-in is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and the camp runs until 4:30 p.m. Bus transportation will be available from the Adams, Marshfield, and Stevens Point Campus locations.
