CENTRAL WISCONSIN — Mid-State Technical College is bringing back its popular Metal Mania machining training program this summer, offering free, hands-on education for those interested in the manufacturing field.

The program, fully sponsored by the Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship, runs June 9 through July 31 and includes 10 available seats. It is open to high school and college students, as well as other individuals exploring a career in machining.

Metal Mania: Milling is a five-credit local certificate program focused on safety, measurement and layout, milling machines, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) mill setup and operation. Participants who complete the program will earn both the Metal Mania: Milling certificate and five credits toward Mid-State’s Precision Machining Technician program.

Applications are due by Friday, May 23. More information and the application form are available at mstc.edu/metal-mania.
