Mid-State Foundation awards scholarships during virtual reception

Mid-State Technical College celebrated the achievements of its 2020 scholarship recipients at the annual Foundation Scholarship Reception, held for the first time as a live virtual event on Sept. 17.

The presentation showcased 175 donors in support of the 289 Mid-State and local high school students who received awards.

This year’s virtual reception was a celebration and tribute to the Mid-State students and the faculty, staff, and scholarship donors who support them, according to Jill Steckbauer, Foundation & Alumni director.

“In these unprecedented times, our students are faced with new and evolving challenges, yet they continue their educational journey and demonstrate resilience and adaptability while finding ways to pay for college,” she said.

The Foundation disburses over $200,000 in scholarships each year. This year’s reception marks the 40th year the Mid-State Foundation has hosted an event to publicly recognize the achievements and dedication of scholarship recipients.
