Mid-State announces an increase in mid-term start classes this fall

The fall semester at Mid-State Technical College is now underway, but thanks to the college’s mid-term start classes it’s not too late for those who want a second shot at advancing educational and life goals with career skills first.

Jackie Esselman, manager of K–12 and adult recruitment, cited a 20 percent increase in applications at Mid-State after the traditional fall semester start compared to last year.

“To help meet the growing interest in enrolling with a delayed start, we have increased our mid-term start offerings to over 190 class sections,” she said. “Mid-term start is equally for current Mid-State students looking to add a class and for late deciders who are new to Mid-State.”

With start dates in October and November, Mid-State is offering a wide variety of flexible classes, including online or small in-person classes and collaborative learning environments. Examples include a variety of general education, business, accounting, and marketing courses as well as some program-specific offerings. Many of the available classes also include guaranteed transfer to more than 20 four-year colleges and universities and a cost per credit that’s two to three times lower than four-year public institutions and up to seven times lower than a private college.

Registration is open now. Students can simply register for classes if they know what courses they need. They can also speak with an outreach coordinator to discuss program options and learn about financial resources. Get started at mstc.edu/midterm.
