Michael W. Hintz, 68

Michael W. Hintz, 68 of Stevens Point, passed away early Monday evening at his home with his family at his side.

Mike was born October 4, 1954, in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Gregory “Bud” and Lorraine (née Pliska) Hintz. He attended local schools graduating from Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) in 1973.

He married his grade school sweetheart Jacqueline “Jackie” Zakrzewski on December 28, 1974 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point. His wife Jackie survives.

Mike worked for Blue Top Farms as the Farm Foreman for over 50 years. You could usually find Mike sitting in his recliner with his dog Lola eating popcorn watching WWE Wrestling and old Westerns. He was also a huge Elvis fan. Mike and Jackie enjoyed going up north for a change of scenery, where he loved to fish, usually catching enough for a fish fry. He also enjoyed being outdoors, turkey and deer hunting, and loved watching the Green Bay Packers.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Mike’s name will be established.

Survivors include his wife Jackie, one son Jake (Angela) Hintz of Stevens Point, one daughter Leslie (Kurt) Calkins of Poynette, his grandchildren Kaylee, Mackenzie (Andrew), AnnaMarie and Natalie, and one Brother Paul (Laurie) Hintz. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jerry and a sister Kathryn Lesniak.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at St. Bronislava Catholic church. The Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth officiating. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Rd. Plover, and from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at St. Bronislava Church until the time for mass.

There will be a parish Rosary at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home to conclude the visitation. The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pisarskifuneralhome.com
