Michael Janiszewski, 76

Michael Janiszewski, age 76, of Stevens Point, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center in Weston on Sunday morning June 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mike will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffery Hennes will officiate.

Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St. A general rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at the Guardian Angel Cemetery at a later date.

Mike was born May 15, 1945, in Stevens Point, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Williams) Janiszewski. Mike married Elaine Marie Kawski on April 22, 1967, at St Joseph Parish, Stevens Point.

Mike worked at Joerns Health Care and retired in 2004, after 40 years of service. Family was important to him and he enjoyed baseball, softball, football, NASCAR, working on cars, hunting, fishing, and spending time with all his grand-doggies. Most important was his pride and joy “Jezebel“ his 1950 Ford F1 made by his own hands from the frame up. Mike enjoyed the Green Bay Packers but always cheered for the Chicago Bears.

He is survived by his wife Elaine (Kawski) Janiszewski and his daughters; Tammy (Donnie) Davis, Mary (Garry) Saeger, Tracy (Jimmy) Wojcik, Laura Janiszewski, and Brenda (Tracy) Gleason. Mike is also survived by his grandchildren Tyler, Morgan, Chyanne, Dylan, Aylissa, Kelsi, Zach, Hunter, and Mitchell, his sister, Delores (Bill) Herz, his brother Tommy (Sherry) Janiszewski, and sister-in-law Susan Janiszewski.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Andy, and many aunts and uncles.
