Metro Fire crews were called to a structure fire on the 2600 block of Algoma St. on Saturday, just one of several larger calls for service to which firefighters responded on May 5.

The fire was first reported at about 3:30 p.m. Plover and Stevens Point crews responded to the scene, while Hull firefighters were on standby.

Assistant Fire Chief Jodi Baganz said the fire was limited to an attached garage at 2632 Algoma St.

“It was only on the exterior of the home, it did not extend inward, was extinguished very quickly,” Baganz said.

Baganz said the occupants were not home at the time and there were no injuries.

“But there was some minor damage to the siding of the home to the east,” he added.

The cause is still under investigation, Baganz said.
