McDill Auto Closing After Eight Decades

Metro Wire Staff

After three generations and almost a century in business, McDill Auto Wrecking, Inc. will close its doors for good on Dec. 9.

The closing comes as a result of the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation’s expansion project of Bus. 51/Post Rd., which comes to the intersection of Hwy. HH and Post Rd. next summer.

“While we have been involved in the planning process regarding this project since 2010 and more intensively in the negotiating phase since 2015, we have been unable to reach a consensus with the DOT regarding the survival of our business,” a news release from owner Kurt Glenzer reads in part.

The company recently celebrated its 80th university at it’s location, 2200 Post Rd.
