The Portage Co. Master Gardeners’ sale returns this May.
With “great prices on hardy central Wisconsin perennials,” the Portage County Master Gardener Association annual plant sale Saturday, May 15, according to a news release from the group.
The sale will be held at a new location this year, the parking lot of the Portage Co. Annex, 1462 Strongs Ave., Stevens Point.
The sale will be from noon to 3 p.m.
Master Gardener members dig and divide their perennials for the sale. The selection is enhanced with flats of several additional popular perennials and specialty items from a wholesale nursery. Herbs, some shrubs, and vegetable seedlings also will be available.
Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and help direct visitors to plants that meet their growing conditions. All plants are labeled.
Plants typically sell for $2 to $10, and the selection is best early. Money raised at the plant sale supports horticulture education programs, scholarships, and area school projects.
COVID-19 precautions will be observed. Face coverings are encouraged.
