MaryAnn Helminiak, 88

MaryAnn Helminiak, age 88, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 8, 2019, with her loved ones at her side.

MaryAnn was an amazing lady. She opened her heart and home to all. Her kindness, smile, and laughter brought joy to all who knew her.

A graveside service for MaryAnn will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.

MaryAnn was born on July 27, 1930, in Stevens Point, the daughter of Mark and Inga (Stenson) Moss. She attended local schools in Stevens Point and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.

On September 2, 1948, she married Robert Helminiak at St. Peter’s Church in Stevens Point. Throughout her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. MaryAnn worked in food service for the Plover-Whiting School. She was an amazing cook and loved to bring happiness to others. She always looked forward to holidays and gatherings at her home. She loved to prepare all of her family’s favorite foods and provided cherished memories to all.

She is survived by her two children: Judy Butcher, Plover; and Roy (DeAnna) Helminiak, daughter-in-law: Julie Helminiak; seven grandchildren: Ben (Stephanie) Moerke, Ashley Moerke, Adam (Wendy) Helminiak, Eric (Andrea) Helminiak, Jennifer (Stuart) Engert, Nicole (Sean) Fish, and Travis (Jennie) Helminiak, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son Kurt, daughter Sue, son-in-law John, granddaughter Jessica, and four siblings: Royal, Bob, LaVern, and Mike.
