Mary Lou was born on January 25, 1940, in Stevens Point, the daughter of Harry and Genevieve (Mansavage) Tomczak. She graduated from Maria High School in 1958. She worked at Hardware Mutual (Sentry Insurance), prior to marrying John C. Hodgson on August 29, 1959, at St. Joseph Parish. She also served as the bookkeeper for Hodgson Insurance and Investments until John and Mary Lou retired.

Mary Lou was a member of the Central Wisconsin Drum & Bugle Corps for years in her younger days and continued with her passion for music throughout her life by being a member of the St. Joseph Choir. She also volunteered many hours with various community events and church-related happenings, including the St. Joe’s Picnic. Mary Lou enjoyed camping and being a member of the Anne’s Society at church, but most of all she loved being with family and attending her grandchildren’s events.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Dave) Hansen of Junction City, Steve (Kim) Hodgson of Plover, and Jim (Dianna) Hodgson of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Brittney Hodgson, Samantha Hodgson, Kylie (Caleb) Barnes, Jasmine (Jacob) Cantrell, and Alex (Victoria) Hansen.
