Marna Madden, 62

We regretfully announce the passing of Marna Madden, 62, of Stevens Point on November 29, 2021. She passes away unexpectedly at UW Madison Hospital after a short illness.

Marna was born on April 16, 1959, to Nancy and the late Robert Whitmire.

Our mother, Marna, was one of the fiercest, most stubborn women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Marna graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. After graduation, she started a family and went on to have five children.

Marna was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. She worked many jobs in her life however her true calling was being a mother and grandmother.

She loved to spend time with her family camping and just being around a campfire with those she loved.

Marna loved to collect strays, whether animals or people, all who were blessed to have known her will say that she would give anyone the shirt off her back, a shoulder to cry on, or an arm to lean on. She would give everything she owned to care for a dog. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Marna was predeceased by her father Robert Whitmire.

She is survived by her mother Nancy, her brother Robert, children Rebecca (Dustin) Wiza, Sean (Billie Herz) Mudgett, Jamie Madden, Carmen Madden, and Kyle Madden. Grandchildren Dakota (Bridget) Smith, Cheyanne Zabawa, Autumn Madden, Evan Hintz.

She is further survived by nephews Andrew (Ashlee) Whitmire and Cameron Whitmire and her great-grandchildren, Jaxon Zabawa, Kennedy Kulas, and Natalie Smith.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at St. Michael’s Hospital and UW Hospital for the compassionate care of Marna and the family during this difficult time.
