Marie was born Oct. 6, 1940, to Archie and Florence Bricko. She grew up on her family’s homestead in Rosholt and graduated from Rosholt High School in 1959. After high school, she worked as a waitress at a local diner, where she met her future husband, Anthony Fredock. The two married on Dec. 30, 1961.

During Anthony’s service with the National Guard, the couple lived in Tacoma, Washington, before settling in Milwaukee after his discharge. There, they raised their family. Marie worked as a cook in local schools and a nursing home, and the family traveled to the homestead weekly to assist with farm work. In 1995, Marie and Anthony retired and returned to Rosholt, settling on the family farm.

Marie enjoyed polka dancing, checking on the cows, dining out for homestyle cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was active in her church, volunteering as the coordinator for the Cherry Tree fundraiser and helping select the polka band for St. Adalbert’s annual church picnic.

Marie is survived by her son, Dennis (Janet) Fredock of Galloway; her daughter, Ann (Michael) Smith of Hortonville; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Olivia, Benjamin, Ellery, Lucas, Brian, and Bailey (Michael); her sister, Rita Bricko; her sisters-in-law, Rita Suchon of Antigo and Audrey Fredock of Wittenberg; her brothers-in-law, Harold Fredock and Lawrence Fredock, both of Wittenberg; and many cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; her parents, Archie and Florence; her parents-in-law, Cecilia and Antoney Fredock; her brothers-in-law, Howard and Arthur Fredock; and several cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Adalbert Catholic School, reflecting Marie’s love for children and her years as a school cook. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Willows (CBRF) and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care.
