Man ID’d in fatal collision on Country Club Dr.

Portage Co. deputies have identified the victim in a Feb. 13 crash on the city’s east side.

Deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash at County Club Dr. and Kirschling Ct. in the Stevens Point, just across from the town limits of Hull, at about 11:40 p.m. on Feb. 13.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a “severely damaged vehicle” that had collided with a light pole and several trees, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The 30-year-old motorist, identified as Colton Sielger of Stevens Point died as a result of injuries he’d sustained in the crash. A 45-year-old female passenger, identified as Brenda Haferman from Grant, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital and released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Portage County Sheriff’s Office. The Stevens Point Police Department, Stevens Point Fire Department, Town of Hull Fire Department, Portage County EMS, and the Portage County Medical Examiner’s Office all responded to the scene.

Sheriff Mike Lukas said there were no plans to release any further information about the collision.
