Madison Elementary School Principal Karl Bancker will retire at the end of the 2025–26 school year, according to a letter sent to parents and guardians.

Bancker has served as the principal of Madison Elementary since 2013. His retirement is effective June 30, 2026.

In his message to families, Bancker described his nearly 15 years at Madison as “the greatest honor” of his professional life and thanked parents and guardians for their trust and support.

“From watching our students grow to collaborating with such a dedicated community of parents and guardians, this has truly been an unforgettable experience,” he wrote.

Bancker said Madison will remain in strong hands, crediting the school’s staff for their commitment to students and their day-to-day work in the building.

“Our staff is the heartbeat of this school,” he wrote. “Their tireless work ensures that every student is cared for and challenged every single day.”

The district is expected to begin a comprehensive search for a new principal, with a new leader anticipated to be selected this spring. Families will have the opportunity to meet the incoming principal during the transition process.

Bancker said his focus will remain on students for the remainder of the school year.

“I will be here every day for the remainder of the school year, working just as hard as ever to ensure every student has the best experience possible,” he wrote.
