Louise A. Raikowski, 86
Louise A. Raikowski, 86, of Stevens Point, died Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Care Partners in Stevens Point, with her family by her side.
Raikowski was born Jan. 10, 1938, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Paul and Ann (Majka) Pliska.
She married David S. “Chief” Raikowski on June 6, 1955, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. They made their home in the Town of Carson, where Louise raised their 13 children while David worked in construction.
Raikowski was a longtime member of Saint Bartholomew Catholic Church.
After her children grew older, she worked at Del Monte but found her calling in being with her family. She loved life, from waving goodbye from her porch to making sure no one left hungry, and from planning Christmas celebrations to cheering on the Packers with her family. She enjoyed rummage sales, sewing, knitting clothes, and making “Papcie” (Polish for slippers) for family and friends. Her greatest joy was being with her family and her husband, David, whom she affectionately called “Her Johnny Cash.”
She is survived by her children: Frank (Cherie) Raikowski, Jerry (Bonnie) Raikowski, Dave (Maggie) Raikowski Jr., Cynthia “Cindi” (Rick) Martin, Mary (Scott) Wanta, Deborah (Ken) Laczkowski, Randy (Lisa) Raikowski, Dawn (Mike) Jenner, Jack (Melinda) Raikowski, Peggy (Roland) McMahon, Bob (Lori) Raikowski, and Kevin (Carita) Raikowski; 38 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sheila Raikowski; siblings: Emily Studinski, Patricia Schulta, Paul “Ronnie” (Karen) Pliska, Bonnie Pliska-Schrage, and Theresa “Terri” Pliska; sister-in-law, Bonnie Pliska; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ernest and Mary Ann Sniadejewski; sister-in-law, Joan Raikowski; and numerous other relatives and friends.
