Local Food Fair returning to SentryWorld

Metro Wire Staff

One of the most popular local food events is returning to SentryWorld next month.

The annual Local Food Fair, hosted by Farmshed, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8. Last year’s event saw thousands of visitors, many of whom attended the event via a shuttle bus from remote parking areas.

It’s Farmshed’s premier outreach event, bringing together over 75 producers, consumers, local businesses, and educators to celebrate the local food community. The event aims to increase awareness about local food sources in Central Wisconsin, and provide a network for farmers, restaurants, and other businesses by improving the community conversation about the local food economy.

The 2020 Farm Fresh Atlas of Central Wisconsin will also be released at the event.

Local chefs will compete for “People’s Choice” and “Judge’s Favorite” awards in creating one-of-a-kind potato dishes during the Farm to Fork Chef Competition. A potato bar will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The potato bar and chef’s dishes are available for $3 per person.

SentryWorld is located at 601 N. Michigan Ave. in Stevens Point.
