STEVENS POINT – The Portage County Public Library will host a program on making fermented beverages at 6:30 p.m. March 31 at CREATE Portage County’s IDEA Center, 1039B Ellis St.
The event, led by Grace Corriveau, a graduate assistant with the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station, will explore fermentation using homegrown and wild yeast. Attendees will have the chance to sample kombucha and tepache, a lesser-known fermented drink, and can enter a drawing for a starter kit to begin brewing kombucha at home.
The program is free and does not require registration. It will take place in the Backstage Room at the IDEA Center, not at a library location. Organizers encourage attendees to park in the Water Street parking lot.
