Letter: shadow government in Park Ridge working against village residents

Editor’s Note: The letter below is in response to an email message (obtained by Metro Wire staff and published in the Sept. 30 issue of Wired In) from former Village Clerk Jeri McGinley sent to Park Ridge officials claiming a recent letter written by President Randy Busch, in which he asked for an end to reported harassment of the current village clerk, only served to further divide village residents. In her message, McGinley also claimed she was afraid to enter village hall alone.

To the Editor-

There are a number of Park Ridge residents who would be interested to learn what we are missing. We have not missed:

-The almost two-years-a-former-trustee slow-walked attempts to address fire department issues.
-The coup masquerading as the annual village caucus, engineered by two serving trustees and a retired employee.
-The out of order introduction of architect/builders not on the evening’s agenda.
-The never-explained gag order imposed on the fire chief at the very time voters were seeking his input.
-The very last-minute cancellation of a publicly advertised fire department open house intended to allow voters an opportunity to view the facilities and equipment.
-The sham information and question answering session at the Pineries Bank.
-The inappropriate announcement of the resurfacing of Linwood Ave. as a fait accompli.

This shadow government group continues to gather; which is, of course, their right. They have damaged irreparably the spirit of “Neighbor helping Neighbor” which had been the motto of this village for many of my 60 years residence here.

Leaders are elected honestly and lead openly. Randy Busch deserves nothing but the thanks and support of all of us.
