Letter: Senator Testin lives in ‘fantasy land of backyard tea parties’

To the Editor-

While the rest of us struggle to live in the harsh reality of life in the midst of a pandemic, State Senator Patrick Testin resides in the comfortable fantasy land of backyard tea parties where he can pretend he’s doing his job.

He and his evil overlords Robin Vos and Scott Fitzgerald fritter away their time gaveling into session, doing nothing and immediately gaveling out.

While the rest of us wrestle with exploding new COVID-19 infection rates in Portage County, Patrick Testin is stuck motionless in the land of make-believe. He touts chairmanship of the Health and Human Services Committee all the while failing to mention he has not held even one hearing to get the pandemic under control.

While Patrick Testin spent his time playing in the sandbox, 900 of his constituents in Wisconsin Rapids lost their good-paying paper industry jobs on his watch. We can’t keep going on like this. It’s time for the adults to take control of the reigns.

Democrats like Paul Piotrowski are ready to roll up their sleeves and get down to the business of doing the hard work of building back all that has crumbled under Republican control. Paul knows we can’t just pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows. Paul has made increasing funding for job training one of the centerpieces of his campaign along with Medicaid expansion and protecting our natural resources. No more playing around. It’s time to vote Paul Piotrowski for State Senate.
