Letter: Schultz will return ‘common sense’ to city council

To the Editor-

“In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable,” a quote by President and General Dwight David Eisenhower which rings true today.

Tuesday, April 6, 2021, we have the opportunity to change the course of our city’s useless plans and begin the essential planning for our future based on principles.

Marla J. Schultz is the disciplined, purposeful candidate running for alderperson representing District 5 who presents a strong campaign platform that leads us on a common-sense path to sound fiscal accounting, a balanced budget, more affordable housing for seniors and families, and safely maintained roads and parks.

Stevens Point, Wisconsin is currently torn between radical, senseless spending by unreasonable leaders and the good, honest, hardworking people who obey the laws, pay their taxes, and believe in living right.

Our city needs to shake off leaders who believe that there’s no need to spare expenses because we can borrow money from our grandchildren.

President Eisenhower also said, “We the people, elect leaders not to rule but to serve.” Marla J. Schultz will bring this fresh new approach to our city government.

Thank you for voting for Marla J. Schultz.
