To the Editor-

Why question the people’s capacity for self-government? This is a republic and we are keeping it. Our leaders are elected to their positions and their chairs are not for sale. Any other thought is treason.

It is unfortunate that Alderman and Council President Marc Christianson spoke of changing our form of government. Fortunately, his words will be remembered on election day.

“Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance, it must be fought for and defended…” -President Ronald Reagan
