Letter: Reader wants improvements on city’s south side

To the Editor-

Living in Portage County for the majority of my life, I have seen many changes to Stevens Point. Some are good and some are bad, but what doesn’t seem to change is the south side of Business 51.

That part of town needs a serious facelift. There are many buildings that look very dated. Some buildings are abandoned and should be torn down. Downtown is quaint, and I see growth on the north side, but why does where the train goes by on Business 51 does it looks so worn out? Can’t some revitalization be done?

I hope the city council and Mayor Wiza see this letter and give it some thought.
